After completing his MBBS from the Topiwal National Medical College and Nair Hospital, he did his Master's in General Surgery from Indira Gandhi Government Medical College, Nagpur He completed DNB from the National Board of Examinations.

In Tata Memorial Hospital, Dr. Katdare has recieved training in management of cancers of various parts of the body inculding head&neck, breast, esophagus, lung, gastrointestinal, gynaecological, urological cancers, soft tissue tumours and rare tumours.

After completing his training at Tata Memorial Hospital, he went to Le Centre Oscar Lambret at Lille, France - An ESGO designated centre of excellence for Gynaecological cancers. There he was trained in the various aspects of Gynaecological cancers. His expertise includes Major cytoreductions for Primary as well as recurrent ovarian cancers, fertility preserving surgeries, Laparoscopic surgery for various gynaecological cancers including single port surgery, supramajor surgeries like pelvic exenterations.
