Dr. Rajesh upadhyay is a director & hod, department of gastroenterology and hepatology, max super speciality hospital, shalimar bagh, new delhi. He is president, association of physicians of india (api)-2015-16. Dr. Upadhyay has 38 years experience in gastroenterology & hepatology with 11 years experience at prestigious hospitals in uk and as consultant gastroenterologist & hepatologist in india since 1991. His clinical acumen and experience is well recognized and he has treated difficult clinical problems in a large number of patients in clinic. His special interest is alcoholic & non-alcoholic liver diseases and gut pain, abdominal gas, diarrhoea, constipation, gall bladder & pancreatic conditions. He has more than 65 academic/scientific papers to his credit including editorials and abstracts, in national / international journals. He has also written many chapters on gastroenterology/hepatology for many books. Dr. Upadhyay has undertaken leadership role in organizing, participating and delivering more than 200 lectures at prestigious regional, national and international conferences. His academic excellence and contributions have been recognized by several awards and orations such as best paper award by caledonian society of gastroenterologist, uk, and indian academy of medical specialists, india, r n chugh oration (api delhi state).
