Dr P. K. Das is a well-known Radiation Oncologist, practicing in Apollo Cancer Institute, New Delhi. He earned his Bachelors Degree in medicine from VSS Medical College, Sambalpur University, Orissa, in 1990. He then further went onto pursue MD in Internal Medicine from MKCG medical college Behrampur University, Orissa in 1995. He was a meritorious student throughout, and is well known for a ‘never giving up’ attitude. He pledges to a fair, ethical and methodical practice. Dr Das ascertains to provide highest quality of patient care and is very dedicated towards his patients. His humanitarian works include, working in relief camps during natural calamities and participating in community health awareness camps against HIV infection. He was an active participant of such activities, both in his undergraduate and postgraduate years. He was also involved in the bone marrow Transplant team at IRCH and was also a research scholar at AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr Das practiced as the Senior Registrar in Department of Oncology, Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH), All Indian Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), New Delhi. He was enthusiastically involved in teaching activities for nurses, under graduates, intern’s and post graduate at AIIMS, New Delhi. During his service in AIIMS, Dr. Das came across many cancer patients and saw them suffer with intense pain. This made him develop a deep concern for the cancer patients and was determined to do something in this area. He developed a fervor in researching about the treatment options for cancer, and thus further pursued DM, (Medical Oncology) form IRCH, AIIMS, New Delhi in 2000. Since then, he has been aggressively involved in organizing Cancer awareness programs in and around the city, and also in setting up screening camps for cancer patients. He has served the debilitating cancer patients for more than a decade and has a vast and varied experience of 17 years. Dr Das presently works as an academic coordinator of medical oncology department of Apollo Cancer Institute, New Delhi. He is also selected as D.N.B. examiner for medical oncology by Health and Family Welfare Department of Government of India.
