This was during COVID situation and this doctor insisted to get COVID test done for the pregnant woman even without any symptoms. We did agree thinking it's good for everyone but the hospital had no testing provisions. When questioned in the hospital they mentioned that in the hospital only this visiting consultant has insisted for this test and no other 40 delivery cases had to go with any covid testing. When voiced we were suggested to go to Rangadorai for getting the test done. When we expressed our concern not to go to a place where there are lot of covid testing being done where the risk is high of catching infections, the doctor ordered a PPE kit for herself and her colleague in the OT costing us Rs5000. During delivery the doctor in the OT was constantly cribbing about us not getting the covid test done which created mental trauma to the pregnant lady lying on the OT table. Post delivery the doctor did come all three days but stood behind the screen and did a verbal consultation without even touching the patient. The change of plaster on the CSection cut which she stitched was also ordered to be redone by another duty doctor. This is ridiculous behavior by a doctor who showed untouchable behavior to a patient who did not have any symptoms of COVID-19. There was no sense or logic behind her behavior. Imagine the doctors treating COVID patients,this doctor clearly violated the hippocratic oath she would have taken.
