Dr Reena Nair is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Clinical Hematology at the Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata. She passed her MBBS and MD (Medicine) from Goa Medical College, Bombay University. She trained in Medical Oncology and Hemato-Oncology at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and at Hammersmith Hospital, London. Dr. Nair was the founding member of the Lymphoma Registry of Mumbai and the National Lymphoma Registry. She was the Convener of the Hemato-Oncology Management Group at the Tata Memorial Hospital. She was a Professor, Postgraduate teacher and examiner for DM Medical Oncology. Dr. Nair has carried out many cancer chemotherapy trials and is a faculty member at Australia and Asia Pacific Clinical Oncology Research Development (ACORD) Workshop.
Dr. Nair has special interest in the management of patients with Lymphoma, Leukaemia and breast cancer.

My daughter anjali is suffering from chronic ITP from past 9 years. No steroids could improve her situation the following are the steroids which are given to her IVIGDAPSONEANTI-D(4 TIMES)When first anti-d was given her platelets incresed to 1.57 lakh from 3000 then again fall to 10000, from then no steroid worked then in 2017, 14feb revolade was started but shown no affect then through dexa platlets improved to1.5lakh but dexa was given 14 days platelets improved due to overdose of dexa. Now her current situation is that there are only 1000 platlets so should we go for splenectomy as no option is left as per the doctors we have consulted to.
