" My name is Munawar Jafferji and I come from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. I have a full set of teeth with complete bridge and crown. Recently having shown to a dentist here they say that the root canals done on the teeth prior to putting the bridge are incomplete.Recently I have had problem on the right lower side where some deep infection has been noticed which for now has subsided with antibiotics. I also had slight pain on the upper right side. X- rays of both upper and lower side were taken to establish that. According to Dentist here, he is suggesting to see an endodontic as he believes that the gum needs to be uprooted to clean the infection and root canal . Now I want your opinion on what to do with the present situation.1) I understand that implants is the best alternative but due to time and money involved in the whole procedure, what is the other best alternative? I was thus looking at the procedure described below in No.22) What if we break the existing upper and lower side bridge and do the root canals on all the required tooth and any other treatment involved. Having done that put the complete set of new upper and lower bridge. Would that solve the future problem and your opinion on this.I shall be thankful to have your input in both these matters and also advise me if I go for the implants of which I am hesitant because of the time I will have to be in India. I believe it will involve two visits and if so how long would each visit be and at what interval. Please also advise me what the procedure will involve on each visit and the total cost using the best implant material. Similarly time involved in doing the dental work with new bridge as described in No.2 above and the cost involved to do the complete procedure. Looking forward to your best opinion. Kind regards.Munawar " - Munawar Jafferji
