" I am sharing my traumatic experience of the past 2 weeks here to ensure no one else goes through the same experience and pain. My father was diagnosed with covid 15 days back and passed away due to covid complications. When his symptoms started, we immediately started scanning his medical reports (he was a diabetic) to prepare for a virtual consultation and start the medicine treatment for him as all I knew was that the key here for high risk patients was to start the treatment early. We were recommended doctor Arika Vohra who we were told had managed and treated many covid patients. Given hospital beds were not available, we decided to start the treatment without any delay and were told that we will need to update her with readings, blood test reports and she will guide us on whatsapp. She started with a prescription giving Levoflox, ,,,, The initial 2-3 days, her responses were terse, most of the consulting kind of questions (can we give him x/y to eat?) were ignored, only critical questions were answered. We assumed this was the need of the hour since the doctors were too exhausted and overworked and kept hoping this doctor knows what she is doing. After a couple of blood reports which indicated rising CRP and lowering lymphocytes, we tried to contact her again and again through messages, calls asking her if there is a risk and if we should look for hospital beds. All this while, my father’s clinical condition - temperature and oximeter were fine. After a few days, I had read enough to know that rising CRP and falling lymphocytes is a concern. On day 7, after us asking if his readings are signaling anything - she replied and asked “is he taking medrol?”. Something in me said this is a bad sign. A doctor asking if her patient is taking a particular medicine?? That too not any medicine but a steroid. We said no since it was not in the prescription. We started medrol the very next day (from what I know now steroids need to be taken early esp for h " - Ramneet
