Home Remedies for Dandruff

Dandruff is the very common and disturbing problem for the healthy hair. This problem can affect anyone. This occurs by the bacterial and fungal infection. It leads to the frequent itching with the formation of scales on the skin. The microscopic malassezia fungus which normally occurs on the scalp sometimes grows out of control which further lead to the dandruff. Sometimes malnutrition also leads to the dandruff, lack of minerals like zinc and calcium in the diet also lead to the dandruff. Usage of soaps and shampoos or using the towels, combs and caps of the infected person can also develop dandruff. Following are some of the home remedies for the prevention of dandruff:

Steam can be very beneficial for the prevention of the dandruff. Steam can be given with the steamer or the hot towel can also be used for steam.

Add lemon juice in the mustard oil and massage the scalp with it. Leave it for 2-3 hours and then wash the head with water.

Mix the almond oil and olive oil. Now massage the scalp with it and then after 2-3 hours wash it with water.

In the hot coconut oil add some powder of black pepper and then massage the head with this oil. This is also a very powerful remedy for the removal of the dandruff.

Fenugreek powder mixed in the henna is also very much helpful for the prevention of dandruff. Apply this paste for some time and then wash the head with cold water.

Curd is also used to treat the problem of dandruff. Apply the curd on the scalp and after 1-2 hours rinse it with water.

Beetroot juice is also very effective for the prevention of the dandruff. Mix some beetroot juice with the olive oil and massage with it on the scalp. This will remove the dandruff.

Reetha is also very useful for the prevention of the dandruff. Soak the Reetha in the water overnight and in the morning make a paste of it and apply it on your head, Reetha is foamy in nature and acts like the shampoo so you can wash your hair with it. This is also a very good conditioner and makes the hair soft and shiny.

Paste of Amla powder when applied on the scalp then it can also give the relief from the problem of the dandruff.

Hygiene is also very important for the prevention of the dandruff. Wash your hair thrice in a week so that the excess oil is removed from the hair and the growth of the bacteria and fungi is also prevented.

Along with this take a diet rich in milk and milk products, fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid the excess intake of the saturated and Trans fats. Intake of salads should also be appropriate in the diet. A well balanced diet is very necessary for the healthy scalp and hair. Also start some exercise as exercise also improves the functioning of each cell of the body.
