A Banana is an elongated,edible fruit-botanically a berry-produced by several kinds of large herbaceous flowering plants in the genus Musa.In some countries,bananas used for cooking may be called “plantains”,distinguishing them from dessert bananas.
Origin-
Generally,it is agreed that bananas originated in southeast Asia and the south pacific around 8000 to 5000 BC. Bananas are believed to have been the world’s first cultivated fruit from Southeast Asia,the fruit was brought west by Arab conquerors and then carried to the New World.
Fertilizer-
A banana plant’s rapid growth rate makes it a heavy feeder.Young Plants may need as much as14to12 pound of fertilizer per month.A balanced fertilizer of 8-10-8 is recommended.
Ingredients-
The Ingredients of unripe bananas is starch.Green bananas contain up to 80%starch measured in dry weight.During ripening the starch is converted into sugar and ends up being less than 1% when the banana is fully ripe.The most common types of sugar in ripe bananas are sucrose,fructose,and glucose.
Storage-
Ripe bananas-once your bananas have reached the desired level of ripeness,you can store bananas in the fridge to stop them from ripening too quickly.
Unfinished bananas-to keep these for a little longer,cover them in plastic wrapcling or a sealed plastic container.
Do bananas make you fat?
Bananas are healthy and nutritious,there is no doubt about that.They are also high in fiber,but low in calories.Most bananas have a low to medium glycemic index,and should not cause big spikes in blood sugar levels compared to other high-carb foods.

Bananas are high in the good kinds of carbs that one deed after a workout.These fast acting carbs help restore the body’s levels of glycogen,which is known to help rebuilt damaged muscles.Experts and nutritionists,potassium is required for our muscle to function,and an adult who works out in gym or jog needs at least 4,700 milligrams of potassium daily.Since all the stress gets down to our muscles during work out,potassium gets used and needs to be replenished after your workout.
Since bananas have a great amount of potassium,therefore,this is one reason they’re a great post-workout snack.
Though bananas and milk are fine in moderation,eating multiple servings without adjusting your diet may cause weight gain.According to Ayurveda,Bananas and milk are considered incompatible,though there’s no research to support this.
