MCT Oil Benefits -
About- MCT stands for Medium-chain triglycerides (MCT) which are triglycerides with two or three fatty acids having an aliphatic tail of 6-12 carbon atoms that is medium-chain fatty acids(MCFAs). Rich food sources for commercial extraction of MCTs include Palm Kernel Oil and Coconut Oil.
MCT Oil is a dietary supplement that is made up of MCT fats, which are fats that can be found in coconut oil, Palm Kernel Oil, and Dairy Products. MCT Oil is mainly used by people looking to lose weight, or boost their endurance during a workout. This oil can actually be derived from coconuts, but it is a much more concentrated compound when compared to coconut oil. MCT Oil contains 100% MCTs whereas coconut oil only contains about 45%- 65% MCTs (and the remainder is lesser grade lauric acid MCTs, but we’ll touch back on this later).
