How to cure Arthritis with Diet

Arthritis is one of the most common disease. It is a form of joint disorder that involves the inflammation of one or more joints. The most common form of arthritis is osteoarthritis .
Causes of Arthritis:
Arthritis is caused as a result of trauma to the joint, infection of the joint, or age. Some other arthritis forms are rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and related autoimmune diseases.
Signs of Arthritis:
The most common symptoms of different arthritis disorders include varied levels of pain, swelling, joint stiffness, malaise, feeling of tiredness, fever, weight loss, poor sleep, muscle aches, tenderness and difficulty in moving the joint.
Foods to Eat:
Arthritis patients should eat foods rich in natural antioxidants and should avoid foods high on sugar, saturated fats, and trans-fatty acids.
Ginger is known to be a painkilling and anti-inflammatory agent. It not only reduces the joint pain and inflammation in people with OA and RA, but also protects the stomach from gastrointestinal infections.
Foods which are easily digestible should be preferred. Vegetable juices, soups, juices of carrot, beat root and cucumber and fruits like apples, oranges, grapes and papaya should be included in their diet.
Food cooked with spices like cumin, coriander, ginger, asafetida, garlic and turmeric are beneficial for arthritis patient.
To treat arthritis, one should avoid eating hot, spicy, fried foods, sweets, and gas forming foods like cabbage, cauliflower, spinach, broccoli, okra and potatoes.
Avoid taking too much tea, coffee, alcohol, white sugar, yoghurt, chocolate and cocoa.
Fruits such as cherries, cranberries, blueberries, blackberries, pears and prunes (cooked or dried) should be consumed in large amounts.
Cooked green, yellow and orange vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, asparagus, lettuce, spinach, chard, collards, string beans, carrot, pumpkin, sweet potatoes and squash should be included more in their diet.
Legumes such as black beans, chickpeas, kidney beans, peas, soybeans should be consumed.
Foods to Avoid:
Fruits such as bananas, peaches, or citrus fruits should be restricted.
One needs to minimize meat, dairy, eggs and butter intake.
Potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, herbal teas and beverages such as coffee, wheat, oats, rye and corn should be avoided.
Along with proper diet, lifestyle modification is also important while suffering from arthritis.
Sleeping during daytime, staying up late in the night and mental tensions like worry, anxiety, fear, stress and grief etc, should be given up.
Regular physical exercise, special exercises for the supporting musculature, and every day massage with oil, should form an important part of life style arthritis treatment.
Lose weight and get close to your ideal body weight. If you weigh less, then there is less weight on your joints and therefore less pain.
