Office is the place where we spend most of the time of our day. Watching a computer screen for eight to ten hours in a day and working for about 5-6 days in a week drains out all the energy and it also effect the health of the person and the situation becomes just worse if we don't care about our self that is regularly following improper food habits with no exercise. These things can create many health problems. So today I am discussing about the healthy tips which you can follow at your workplace and which can keep you healthy and fit:
Never skip your breakfast. Take a healthy breakfast, this will help you to kick start your day. If sometimes you miss your breakfast then carry it to your office and take it there. Skipping your breakfast can lead to low work efficiency, drowsiness and low energy levels.
Always carry fresh fruits or nuts with you to office and munch on them whenever feel like to have something. These can be the healthy options to eat and will also avoid the unhealthy eating.
Always prefer to take homemade lunch at office. A homemade lunch will be healthier and hygienic than a vending machine.
Be hydrated and take frequent water during the day. You can also take coconut water or fresh fruit juices if available in the office.
Continuously sitting on the chair and watching the computer screen can make stress on the eyes. Take time to look away from the screen in every ten minutes or you should take a full minute rest by closing your eyes in every half an hour.
Do not use the lift instead of it use stairs, by this way your body will be in motion. Sitting jobs can lead to many lifestyle problems and even weight gain. So use of stairs can be a small way of exercise.
Stretch all the parts of the body after every 1 hour. This can relieve the muscles and it will also increase the blood circulation.
Avoid too much of tea and coffee. They can be the mood elevator and can also boost your working but too much of caffeine in coffee or tannins present in tea can also aggravate some other problems like high blood pressure or hypertension. Instead of normal tea and coffee you can also take herbal tea or green tea if available in the office.
If there is gym facility in your office then go for a workout. Exercise is great way to relieve stress and it is also a mood elevator. When you exercise a hormone called endorphin releases which gives the feeling of happiness. Exercise is also very important to prevent the diseases and to maintain a healthy weight.
Maintain a healthy posture as bad posture habits can lead to the risk of many problems like neck pain, cervical, sciatica and nerve depression in hands or elbow. Always sit straight with your back flat against the chair back, which should support the lower back area. Feet should be flat on the ground and keep your monitor at right height and distance from you.
