Is Honey Gluten Free - 

Honey is a sweet, viscous Food substance made by honey bees and some related insects. Bees produce honey from the sugary secretions of plants or from secretions of plants or from secretions of other insects,by regurgitation, enzymatic activity,and water regurgitation, enzymatic activity, and water evaporation. Bees store honey in a wax structure called honeycombs. 

Honey is naturally free of gluten.It does not contain wheat or its by-product. 

Steps involved in production of Honey-

Step:1-  Role of Bee- Honey is produced from the flower nectar which is collected by bees, and it's broken down into simple sugars stored inside the honeycomb. The constant fanning of the bees wings causes evaporation,creating sweet liquid honey. Honey’s color and flavor varies based on the nectar collected by the bees. 

Step:2- Hive- Beekeeper harvest it by collecting the honeycomb frames and scraping off the wax cap that bees make to seal off honey in each cell.Then the caps are removed,a centrifuge that spins the frames,forcing honey out of the comb. 

Step:3- Home- When honey is extracted,then it removes the remaining wax and other impurities. Then the honey get heated to make this process easier. 

When the bottles get strained,label and then it is brought to the consumers.

Gluten- Gluten is a group of seed storage proteins found in certain grains.Although,strictly speaking,”Gluten” pertains only to wheat proteins. It acts like a binder,holding food together and adding a “stretchy”quality. 

Is it Bad for you ? 

In people with celiac disease,gluten triggers an immune response that damages the lining of the small intestine.This can interfere with the absorption of nutrients from food,cause a host of symptoms,and lead to other problems.  

Honey is naturally gluten-free,as the grains are used in their preparation.
