My name is Yoav Van der Heyden and I’m a Clinical Psychologist practicing in the Observatory, Cape Town.
I trained as a Clinical Psychologist at the University of Cape Town and then at the University of Stellenbosch and have been practicing since 2006.
I use an approach known as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for much of my work, although I have trained in various psychological approaches and incorporate these when needed. I am particularly excited by ACT as a contextual behavioral approach that incorporates mindfulness among other interesting concepts.
